Chemostat for algal cultures at Brixham Environmental Laboratory

Algae

Tests are available for a selection of freshwater and marine species. 72 to 120 hour tests to OECD 201, EU and US EPA guidelines are offered alongside 14 and 21 day long term tests for the US FDA. Testing of coloured substances can be conducted to distinguish true toxicity from the light reduction effects of highly coloured test substances. Substances that are volatile can also be tested using techniques developed here at Brixham Environmental Laboratory.

Aquatic Plants

7 and 14 day toxicity tests to the freshwater aquatic plant, Lemna gibba (Duckweed) are offered to satisfy both US EPA and EU requirements.
